Patna : World No 1 and 10 time champion Rafael Nadal, 31, Spain, entered the third round of French Open 2018 crushing World No 78 Guido Pella, 28, Argentina, 6-2, 6-1, 6-1 in the second round on Suzane Lenglen court, Roland Garros, on May 31, 2018.

Interestingly, Pella fired 8 aces during the match compared to only 4 by Nadala. Nadal also committed 3 double faults in the match though Pella committed 4. Nadal, however, won 7 break points in the match compared to none by Pella. Nadal won 9 games in a row during match.

World No 36 Albert Ramos-Vinolas, 30, Spain, also entered the third round defeating World No 157 Casper Ruud, 19, Norway, 6-4, 6-2, 6-4 in the second round on Court 8. But, Vinolas committed 3 double faults in the match compared to 2 by Ruud. Both players fired one ace each. Vinolas won 6 break points while Ruud won only 2.

World No 17 Kyle Edmund, 23, UK, defeated World No 45 Marton Fucsovics, 26, Hungary, 6-0, 1-6, 6-2, 6-3 on Court 3 to enter the 3rd round.
