Patna : Eleven time champion and top seed Rafael Nadal Parera better known as Rafael Nadal entered the third round of ATP Barcelona Open at Barcelona, Spain, on April 24, 2019, evening, surviving a huge scare.  Nadal clawed his way back into the match after losing the first set to World N0 63 Leonardo Mayer, 31, Argentina, in a tie-break in the 2nd round.

World No 2 Nadal edged past Leonardo Mayer 6-7, 6-4, 6-2 in 2hr 49 minutes in the 2nd round. Nadal broke Mayer’s service 4 time in the match while the latter broke his service only once.
