Patna : Fifth seed & 2009 champion Rafael Nadal, 35, Spain, reached the 4th round of Australian Open (AO) 2022 defeating 28th seed Karen Khachanov, 25, Russia, in four-sets in men’s singles third on January 21, 2022, Nadal beat Khachanov 6-3, 6-2, 3-6, 6-1 in 3rd round on Rod Laver Arena.
World No 5 Nadal, the winner of 20 Grand Slam singles titles, won 5 break points during the match to 1 by World No 30 Russian. Nadal had created 15 break point opportunities but could convert only 5. The Russian created 5 break point opportunities byt could convert only 1.
