Gopalganj: Bihar CM Nitish Kumar on January 31 assured the people that his government would fulfil all the  promises that the Grand Alliance had made during the 2015 assembly elections. He said that the state government has adopted `saat nischay’ and he is himself moving across the state to see whether the benefits of `saat nischay’ are reaching the ground level or not.

Addressing a big meeting organized under Graam Samvad Programme at Lachwar under Thawe block in Gopalganj district, Nitish said that several engineering, GNM, Para-medical and ANM Colleges are being opened across the state so that the youth opt for job oriented courses. He said that nursing courses have been started at sub-divisional level and the state government has intiated steps to open five new medical colleges in the state.

Nitish said that Lachwar has become free from open defecation. He said that he was apprised by the district officials that the resident of this village offer rose to people, who rush to fields during morning for attending nature’s s call. He urged the people to use the toilets at their homes as it might prevent 90% of the diseases from spreading.

Nitish said that this district is borders Uttar Pradesh. He said that though the administrative wing is working round the clock to check sale of liquor, people would have to cooperate in this. Nitish said that if the government employees are found wanting in duty, they would loose their jobs and stern action would be taken against them. He said that prohibition leads to the development. People used to create problems after boozing earlier, he said adding that the same people are now using their hard earned money for the betterment of their families.w

Nitish also stressed on the need of women empowerment in Bihar. He said that he enforced prohibition after appeal from the women of the state. Several women have sent their husbands to jail for boozing, he said urging the people to inform local police if they see anybody boozing.
