Motihari : JD(U) National President and Bihar CM Nitish Kumar on October 21, 2020, said that his government has established rule of law in the state and as a result the crime rate has gone down and the people in both rural and urban areas are living in peace. Bihar is ranked 23rd in the country in terms of crime, according to a 2018 report of the Central Government, said Nitish while addressing an impressive gathering at Kesariya in East Champaran District in North Bihar.
Nitish, who is set to continue as the Chief Minister if NDA is voted back to power, referred to the developments in every spehere in the state in his regime during last 15 years. Addressing a poll meeting at Kesariya seeking votes for JD(U) candidate Shalini Mishra, he said the JD(U) nominee has promised that she will serve the people life long.
BJP national vice-president and former Radha Mohan Singh, MP from Purvi Champaran, State JD(U) Working President Ashok Chaudhary, a Minister, and other senior leaders of NDA also addressed the meeting.
Lashing out at the RJD led Mahagathbandhan, Nitish asked the people to never forget the days of Jungle Raj when it was difficult for
people to step out of their houses after sunset as incidents of kidnapping, loot, and massacre were the order of the day. The doctors, businessmen, and well off persons were fleeing the state. ” During my Nyay Yatra several years back, I had assured the people of state that the crime will be checked and I will develop the state with justice and I have kept that promise,”Nitish asserted.
Nitish also stated that during last 15 years, he had done a lot for woman empowerment and they have been given 50% reservations in the
panchayat and local self bodies in state. Around 10 lakh self help groups (SHGs) of women are functional in the state and they are
able to earn their livelihood, Nitish said. He said some people were trying to confuse the people and making sarcastic remark against him. ” They do not know anything about the functioning of government yet misguiding the people,” Nitish said. He urged the voters to cast their votes in favour of NDA candidates to facilitate continuance pf the NDA Government in the state.
