Muzaffarpur : Muzaffarpur SSP Vivek Kumar has sent a proposal to the state government for creation of eight more police stations in the district. Two police outposts have been proposed in urban areas of the district.The step appears to have been taken in the wake of spurt in crime including dacoity, loot and murder in the district.

Thirty CCTV cameras are already installed in Muzaffarpur town and 25 more would be installed soo. SSP Vivek Kumar said that steps were being taken for speedy trial of jailed criminals. Construction of new buildings for some police stations is also proposed. All the police stations have been asked to prepare data base of criminals in a new way. The SSP said new strategy had been chalked out to check crime in the district. Action will be taken against officials found lax in duty, he added.
