Muzaffarpur : Muzaffarpur police busted a gang of  fake currency racketeers and seized counterfeit Indian currency of the face value of Rs 9 lakh after arresting  8 members of the gang on August 1, 2021, night,, on NH28  near Motipur when they were on way to Motihari  on nn SUV. All  the arrested gang members are residents of  Sitamarhi, Muzaffarpur, and East Champaran districts in North Bihar.

SSP, Muzaffarpur,  Jayant Kant, said thatpolice, acting on an information, intercepted an SUV between Motipur and Motihari and recovered counterfeit Indian currency of the face value of Rs 9 lakh from the vehicle and arrested one  person. Police conducted raids at several places in Muzaffarpur, Sitamarhi, and East Champaran districts,  and arrested 7 more persons involved in this racket on the  information given byarrested SUV occupant. All the arrested racketeers are  involved in this anti- national activity.They are being quizzed by police and other security agencies.

Saiyyad Imran Masood, ASP, West Muzaffarpur, said that more members of this gang would be arrested soon in this case. According to police sources, some fake note printing machines are active on Indo -Nepal border areas and raids are being conducted to seize them.
