Muzaffarpur Excise Suptd recommends externment of four

Muzaffarpur : Excise Superintendent, Muzaffarpur, Amit Kumar, has recommended for externment of four liquor smugglers from the district. Three of these liquor smugglers belong to Motipur block of the district. The Excise Superintendent sent his recommendation to the Muzaffarpur DM recently.

The Excise department seized around 6,500 litres of foreign liquor before Holi this month till March 12, 20179, said Excise Superintendent Kumar adding 9,000 litres of foreign liquor were seized in February 2017. He said the department has arrested 63 persons in this connection since February this year.

Replying to a query, Kumar said that most of the foreign liquor consignment mostly came from Haryana. Jharkhand, Bengal and UP are the other states from where liquor was smuggled into Muzaffarpur district of North Bihar. In one case, 90 cartons of foreign liquor came from even Rajasthan by a truck carrying cycle parts to Bengal, he said.
