Patna : Second seed Lorenzo Musetti, 19, Italy; 5th seed Daniel Altmaier, Germany; World No 137 Jao Sousa, Portuga; and Kamil Majchrzak, 26, Poland, advanced to the quarter-finals of Tata Open Maharashtra, an ATP 250 points tennis tournament, at Pune, on February 2, 2022.

World No 66 Musetti beat  World No 140 Aleksandar Vukic, 25, Australia, in three-sets 7-6, 3-6, 6-3 in second round on Centre Court. Both the players won 1 break point each during the match. Both of them also fired 9 Aces each during the match. The Italian, however, won a tie-break too. Musetti, in all, won 93 points in the match to 91 points by Vukic. Both theplayers won 3 games each in a row during the match.

World No 85 Altamaier beat World No 108 Radu Albot, 32, Moldova, in three-sets 3-6, 6-4, 6-4 in second round coming back from one set down. The German fired 8 Aces in the match to 5 by Albot. Both the players won 3 break points each during the match.  Albot, however, won 97 points in the match to 93 by Altmaier. Bothe the players also won 3 games each in a row during the match.

World No 137 Joao Sousa, 32, Portugal, beat World No 67 Gianluca Mager, 27, Italy, 4-6, 6-3, 7-6, in second round. rallying back from one set down. Mager hammered 15 Aces during the match to 12 by Sousa. But, the Italian also committed 6 double faults to 2 by Sousa. Both the players won 1 break point each during the match. Sousa though also won the tie-break. The Portugalese won 98 points in the match to 94 points by Mager. Sousa won 3 games in a row during the match to 2 by Mager. Sousa will face Altmaier in QF.

World No 95 Kamil Majchzrazk beat World No 141 Quentin Halys, 25, France, in straight sets 6-3, 7-6 in 2nd round. The Pole won 2 break points during the match to 1 by Halys. He also won a tie-break. Halys though hammered 13 Aces during the match to just 1 by the Pole. Kamil will face Musetti in quarter-fina.
