Patna : Two-time champion Andy Murray, 34, UK, edged past qualifier Oscar Otte, 27, Germany, in a five-set thriller in 2nd round reach Wimbledon third round on June 30, 2021, night. Murray, who had won the Wimbledon men’s singles title in 2013 & 2016 and US Open title in 2012, beat World No 151 Oscar OtteĀ  6-3, 4-6, 4-6, 6-4, 6-2 in 2nd round on Centre Court, Wimbledon, London, UK. Murray will face 10th seed Denis Shapovalov, 22, Canada, in 3rd round on July 2, 2021.

Murray, who is currently World No 118 due to injuries and subsequent operation, won 7 break points during the match to 4 by German, The Brit, in all, won 151 points during the match to 142 by the German. Both the players won 4 games each in a row during the match. Murray won 26 games during the match to 21 by Otte. The German, however, fired 14 Aces during the match to 7 by Murray, the five-time Austra;lian Open finalist. But, Otte committed 9 double faults too.
