Mukhias stage demonstration in Saharsa

Saharsa : Mukhia of different panchayats in Saharsa district on July 5, 2017, staged demonstration at Manori Chowk on Sonbersa Raj- Baijnathpur road to protest curtailment in their power. The mukhias under the leadership of  Shivendra Narayn Singh were raising slogans against the state government and CM Nitish Kumar. The traffic on Sonbersa Raj – Baijnathpur road remained affected for two hours due the agitation.

Shivendra Narayan Singh said that development fund should be directly released to the panchayats but Bihar government has decided to spend the fund under its Saat Nischay programme after getting the fund from the central government. He alleged that the state government was hampering the development works by constituting Ward Development Committee in all the panchayats.
