Motihari: A jaggery dealer Shyam Babu Prasad was shot dead by some criminals neer Patuki Sai Mazar in Ramna colony, Motihari, in East Champaran district on September 22 at 8 pm. The bullet first hit his eye and then pierced his head. His kin rushed him to a private nursing home where the doctor declared him brought dead.
Police attributed the killing to old enemity though they had to face the ire of the people. Town police station incharge Ajay Kumar said Prasad’s brother has lodged an FIR against nine persons. The local blocked the Meena Bazaar chowk on Friday to register their protest against the incident. The East Champaran district administration had to deploy police to handle the situation.
