Patna : The Monsoon session of both the Houses of state legislature will begin from July 28, 2017. Bihar Cabinet approved a proposal of Parliamentary Affairs Department to this effect at its meeting on June 20, 2017. The meeting was presided over by CM Nitish Kumar. The short Monsoon session will have five sittings between July 28 and August 3. The Cabinet approved 12 proposals.

The Cabinet approved the energy department’s proposal for grant of Rs 1,476 crore to compensate for financial loss arising out of access aggregate technical and commercial loss than anticipated earlier to two distribution companies of Bihar State Power (Holding) Company Limited (BSPHCL) to meet the expenditure in 2017-18 at the rate of Rs 123 crore per month. The BSPHCL will use this fund to pay NTPC for purchase of power and to boost capital equity of the power company.

The Cabinet also sanctioned Rs 115 crore out of the annual grant of Rs 150 crore towards salaries of teachers of 531 Sanskrit schools in Bihar.
