Patna : Top seed and World No 1 Kento Momota, 25, Japan, edged past World No 9 and defending Champion Anthony Sinisuka Ginting, 22, Indonesia, in a three-game thriller in the final to win the men’s singles title at Victor China Open at Changzhou, China, on September 22, 2019.

Reigning World Champion Momota beat 7th seed Ginting 19-21, 21-17, 21-19 in 1hr 31 minutes coming from behind in the final at Olympic Sports Center Gymnasium, Changzhou, China, in the final. Momota won 61 rallies in the match to 57 by Ginting. He also won 8 consecutive points in the match to 5 by the defending champion. Momota now leads Ginting 10-3 Head to Head. Momota has won 27 career titles. Momota bagged  12,000 points for winning the title while Ginting secured 10,200 points as runner-up.

Ginting had defeated Momota in straight games 23-21, 21-19 in the final to win the Victor China Open title in 2018.
