Patna : Top seed and two-time World Champion Kento Momota, 25, Japan, on November 10, 2019, beat 2nd seed and World No 2 Chou Tien Chen, 29, Chinese Taipei, in a three-game thriller lasting 83 minutes in the final to retain his Fuzhou China Open, an HSBC BWF World Tours Super 750 tournment, title. Momota got 11,000 BWF rankings points for winning the title while runner-up Chousecured 9,350 points.

Momota edged past Chou 21-15, 17-21, 21-18 in the final at Haixia Olympic Sports CEntre, Fuzhou, China. Momota won 59 rallies in the match to 54 by Chou. Momota won 5 consecutive points in a row to 4 by Chou. Momota now leads Chou 11-2 Head to Head. The final was a repeat of 2018. In 2018 too, Momota had defeated Chou in three-games in 67 minutes.
