Patna : Top seed and reigning World Champion Kento Momota, 25, Japan, defeated 2nd seed and World No 2 Chou Tien Chen, 29, Taiwan, in straight games in the final to lift the men’s singles title at Korea Open, an HSBC BWF World Tour Super 500 Tournament, at Incheon, South Korea, on September 29, 2019. Momota bagged 9,200 BWF rankings points besides a cash prize of $ 30,000 for winning the title while Chen got 7,800 points besides a cash prize of $ 15,000.
Momota beat defending champion Chen 21-19, 21-17 in 52 minute to win the men’s singles title at Incheon Airport Skydome, Incheon, on September 29, further consolidating his World No 1 position. Momota won 42 rallies in the match to 36 by Chen. He won 4 consecutive points in the match to 5 by Chen. Momota now leads Chen 10-2 Head to Head.
