Patna : Top seed and reigning World Champion Kento Momota, 25, Japan, beat reigning Olympic Champion and World No 5 Chen Long, 30, China, in straight games to lift the men’s singles title at Danisa Denmark Open at Odense, Denmark, on October 20, 2019, evening, consolidating his position as World No1 player.
Momota defeated 5th seed Long 21-14, 21-12 in 44 minutes in the final at Odense Sportspark, Denmark. Momota won 42 rallies in the match to 26 by the Chinese. Both the players won 8 consecutive points each in the match. The two players are now locked 5-5 Head to Head. Momota bagged 11,000 BWF ranking points for winning the title while Long got 9,350 points.
