Patna: Lokayukta, Bihar, Justice (retd) C M Prasad, who on Monday inaugurated the Moleculr Diagnostic and Research Laboratory at Mahavir Cancer Sansthan, Patna, said the hospital has become a symbol of determination. The lab is first of its kind in Bihar and Jharkhand.
Addressing the gathering on the occasion, Justice ( retd) Mihir Kumar Jha said that with revenue from Mahavir Mandir Trust, Mahavir Cancer Sansthan is treating cancer patients which is big deal. He has appreciated the staff of Mahavir Cancer Sansthan. The person behind the Laboratory Dr. Md. Ali, said it is necessary to know the type of tumor of cancer patients and for that targeted therapy is required. After establishment of this laboratory, it will be easy to understand the nature of tumor and right medicines will be given to patients.
Associate Director of Sansthan and head of Chemotherapy Department Dr Manisha Singh said that targeted therapy is the latest technology in the field of cancer treatment. Establishment of Molecular Diagnostics Lab will help identify targeted medicine for individual patients.
Founder of Sansthan and Secretary of Mahavir Mandir Trust Acharya Kishore Kunal while addressing the gathering said whenever he receives any proposal for introduction of latest technology,he considers it on priority basis. He said that cancer patients were getting the blood by paying only Rs 300. He said a canteen for cancer patients is going to be established after which cancer patients and their attendant will get food free of cost. Director of Sansthan Dr. Vijay Kumar Gahlot said that with the inauguration of this lab the treatment pattern of this hospital has become latest.
