Mob sets afire several houses at Motipur to protest rape

Muzaffarpur : A furious mob set afire several houses at Motipur in Muzaffarpur district in North Bihar on May 30, 2018, to protest the rape of a woman on May 27, 2018, and delay in arrest of the accused. With the wind fanning the fire, it soon engulfed many houses. Motipur is about 103 km away from state apital Patna.

Muzaffarpur DM Mohd Sohail, SSP Harpreet Kaur, and DSP Krishna Murari Prasad immediately rushed to the spot with force and are camping there to bring the situation under control withe help of the locals. Heavy deployment of police has been made in the affected areas. A police official said that the DM and SSP have brought the situation under control.

Some miscreants had raped the woman on May 27. A panchayat was held in this connection. But the accused have not been arrested so far.
