Patna : World No 66 in ATP rankings Jaume Munar, 21, Spain, and World No 135 Casper Ruud, 20, Norway, entered the 2nd round of Rio Open, an ATP World Tour 500 points tennis tournament, at Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, on February 19, 2019.

Munar beat World No 55 Leonardo Mayer, 31, Argentina, 7-6, 6-4 in the first round. Munar won 3 games in a row in the match. He also served 4 Aces in the match to 3 by Mayer. Munar also won a break point. Mayer, on the other hand, committed 5 double faults though his winning percentage on both his first and second serve was better than that of Munar.

Ruud beat World No 140 Carlos Berloq, 36, Argentina. 6-1, 6-2 in the first round. Ruud won 4 break points in the match to none by his rival. Rudd also won 7 games in a row in the match. Berloq though served 2 Aces in the match.

World No 62 Cameron Norrie, 23, Great Britain, beat World No 43 and 6th seed Dusan Lajovic, 28, Serbia, 6-2, 6-1 in the first round. Norries fired 4 Aces in the match to none by Lajovic. He also won 5 break points to 1 by Lajovic. Norrie won 6 games in a row in the match while Lajovic won 2. Norrie though also committed 4 double faults.
