Miscreants sprinkle petrol, ignite fire on Runnisaidpur block premises

Sitamarhi : Some unidentified persons on January 16, 2019, noon, sprinkled petrol and ignited fire on Runnisaidpur block office premises in Sitamarhi district where CPI workers were sitting on fast. Two persons sustained burn injuries and were rushed to Sri Krishna Medical College Hospital (SKMCH), Muzaffarpur.

The CPI workers were sitting on fast to press their demand for grant of homestead paper (Basgit Parcha) without payment of hush money. They are on fast since January 14, 2019. Sadar SDO, Sitamarhi, Mukul Kumar Gupta, and SDPO K V Dhirendra  visited the block premises and investigation is underway. Angry locals blocked NH77 for several hours that caused a lot hardships to daily commuters.
