Ara : Some miscreants have demanded Rs 5 lakh as extortion amount ( Rangdari) from a Mobile Phone Shop owner Suraj Keshari of Sariaya Bazaar under Krishnagarh police station in Bhojpur District threatening to kill him if he fails to pay the amount.

An FIR was lodged with Krishnagarha police station in this connection on January 3, 2020. Police are investigating into the matter. A delegation of the Business Cell of the BJP met Bhojpur SP Incharge Sudhir Kumar Porik and requested him to take stern action against the miscreants. The family of the businessman is living under constant fear.

SHO, Krishnagarha police station, said that the miscreants demanded a ‘Rangdari’ of Rs. 5 lakh from Suraj Keshari at Saraiya Bazaar when he was in his Mobile Phone Shop on January 1, 2020. In a petition to the Bhojpur SP,  Suraj alleged that Nityanand Singh had demanded Rs 5 lakh earlier on August 27, 2019, and August 31, 2019, with a threat to kill him. Nityanand Singh had also fired at him but he somehow survived, Suraj alleged. An FIR was lodged with Krishnagarha police station but no action was taken and in the meanwhile, he complained, Nityanand Singh once again demanded Rs 5 lakh from him threatening him with threat of dire consequences.

It may be mentioned here that on December 29, 2019, Nityanand Singh, a dreaded criminal and his associates, had allegedly shot dead a businessman Sriman Narayan Gupta at village Nathmalpur under Barhara police station in Bhojpur District when he failed to pay him Rs. 1 lakh. The miscreants had demanded Rs 1 lakh Rangdari from Sriman Narayan Gupta with a threat to kill him and also set his shop ablaze if he failed to concede the demand.
