Miscreants demand Rs 10 lakh from RJD MLA from Barhara Saroj Yadav, FIR lodged

Ara : RJD MLA from Barhara in Bhojpur District Saroj Yadav lodged a named FIR with Danapur police station in Patna District against Janardan Yadav and his associates on September 12, 2019, late evening, charging them with demanding Rs 10 lakh from him as ‘Rangdari ‘ (extortion amount) with a threat of dire consequences. The FIR was lodged on the direction of SSP, Patna, Garima Mallick. IG, Shahabad Range, Sanjay Singh, has ordered for theimmediate  arrest of the accused.

SHO, Danapur police station, Rajesh Kumar Sinha, said that Nakul, allegedly a CPI (Maoist), demanded Rs. 10 lakh from Saroj Yadav, RJD, MLA, Barhara from mobile No 8544035865 with a threat to blow up the entire family with bomb if he fails to yield to his demand. He said that the extortionist also sent bank A/C No 08303211149637 and IFSC Code UCBA 0000830. The message was sent around midnight on September 11, 2019, when the MLA was in Danapur area.

Saroj Yadav said that he was in Danapur area when a message came on his mobile at about midnight on September 11, 2019. He opened the message on September 12, 2019, and was in trauma when he read it. He immediately informed Bhojpur SP Sushil Kumar and other senior officials of Bhojpur district. Bhojpur SP assured to inquire into the matter.

An audio of dialogue between the MLA and a contractor Janardan Yadav of village Pawat had gone viral on social media a few  ago regarding demand of commission from the contractor though the MLA had denied it was his voice in the audio. After 20 days of the audio going viral on the social media, at least four FIRs were lodged with different police station against him in Patna and Bhojpur districts.

It may be mentioned here that four motorcycle borne miscreants had fired at the house of the RJD MLA from Barhara Saroj Yadav located near a Petrol Pump at Keshopur village around 10pm on September 10, 2019, in which his brother-in-law Nirmal Yadav had a narrow escape. A named FIR was lodged with  Barhara police station against three persons including Jarandan Yadav and police are investigating into the matter.
