Ara : Dozens of miscreants attacked members of a Mahadalit family with traditional and sharpedged weapons injuring 10 persons including women at village Bagawa under Gadhani police station in Bhojpur district on August 9, 2019, when they objected to their passing vulgar comments against girls and women.
The locals rushed the injured persons to Ara Sadar Hospital where their condition is stated to be critical. An FIR has been lodged with Gadhani police station but no arrest has so far been made in this regard.
SHO, Gadhani police station, said that some makeshift eateries are set up in front of the house of Umesh Baitha at village Bagawa where eve-teasers gather daily and pass vulgar comments on girls and women passing by besides woman folk of Umesh Baitha’s family. On August 9, the eve-teasers again passed vulgar comments on the woman folk of Umesh Baitha’s family. When Umesh Baitha protested, they entered his house and attacked him and his family members with traditional and sharpedged weapons injuring 10 of them, all residents of Bagwa Ward No 3 under Gadhani police station.
