Patna : World No 31 Alex de Minaur, 20, Australia, beat winner of three Grand Slam titles including two Wimbledon singles title Andy Murray, 32, Great Britain, in Round of 16 of  Zhuhai Open, an ATP 250 points tournament played on hard courts, at Zhuhai, China, on September 26, 2019.

Minaur beat Murray, the World No 413, in three-sets 4-6, 6-2, 6-4 coming from behind to enter the QFs of the tournament. Murray though fired 10 Aces in the match to 6 by Minaur. Both the players committed 4 double faults each. Minaur won 4 break points to 2 by Murray. Both the players also won 3 games each in a row in the match. The Australian won 60 service points to 51 by Murray. Minaur will face 4th seed Borna Coric, Croatia, the QFs on September 27, 2019.

World No 61 Adrian Mannarino, 31, France, also entered the QFs after his Round of 16 opponent and top seed Stefanos Tsitsipas, 21, Greece, retired due to injury after the second set. World No 7 Tsitsipas had won the first set 6-3 but lost the second 5-7. Mannarino will face World No 93 Damir Dzumhur, 27, Bosnia & Harzegovina, in the QFs on September 27.

World No 10 Roberto Bautista Agut, 31, Spain, the 2nd seed, beat compatriot and World No 53 Pablo Andujar, 33, 7-5, 7-5 to advance to the QFs. Augut fired 7 Aces in the match to 1 by Andujar. Agut won 5 break points in the match to 3 by Andujar. He also won 4 games in a row in the match to 2 by Andujar. Augut will face World No 74 Andreas Seppi, 35, Italy, in the QFs.
