Patna : Mumbai Indians (MI), who have lost their first two matches against CSK and KKR in the IPL 2018, score 194/7 in 20 overs against Delhi Daredevils (DD) on April 14, 2018, at Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai, even as their batting power houses Rohit Sharma ( captain), Kieron Pollard, Hardik Pandya, and Krunal Pandya failed to click. Openers Surya Kumar Yadav and Evin Lewis were, however, in tremendous form and scored 84 runs in the mandatory 6 over power play. DD won the toss but to bowl.

The two openers were involved in 102 run partnership for the first wicket.Lewis was out for 48 in 28 balls with 4 fours and 4 sixes when the team score was 102. Surya Kumar got out after scoring 53 in 32 balls hitting 7 fours and a six when the score was 109. Both the wickets were claimed by leg spinner Rahul Tewatia, 24, Haryana. Ishan Kishan made 44 in 23 balls hitting 5 fours and 2 sixes. Rohit Sharma, who did not open the innings in this match, made 18 in 15 balls with 2 fours while Pollard was out without scoring. Krunal Pandya made 11 while Hardik Pandyawas out for 2.

For DD, Trent Boult, New Zealand, took 2/39 in 4 overs while Daniel Christian, Australia,  took 2/35 in 3 overs. Rahul Tewatia took 2/36 while Mohammad Shami took 1/36.

Replying to the MI total, DD were 22/0 in 2 overs with Json Roy batting on 17 and Captain Gautam Gambhir batting on 6.
