Patna : A disastrous start notwithstanding, Mumbai Infians (MI) still scored 191/4 in 20 overs against Kings XI Punjab (KXIP) in the 13th match of IPL 2020 at Sheikh Zayed Stadium, Abu Dhabi, UAE, on October 1, 2020, night, with opener Rohit Sharma (captain) scoring 70 in 45 balls hitting 8 fours and 3 sixes, Kieron Pollard scoring an unbeaten 47 in 20 balls with 4 sixes and 3 fours, and all-rounder Hardik Pandya scoring an unbeaten 30 in 11 balls hitting 3 fours and 2 sixes. KXIP won the toss and opted to bowl.

Pollard hit three consecutive sixes on the last three balls of the 20th over bowled by spinner Krishnappa Gowtham while Hardik Pandya had hit a six on the second ball of the over. KXIP conceded 25 runs in the 20th over. Earlier, Rohit Sharma had hit Medium fast bowler James Neesham for two back to sixes and two back to back fours in the 16th over. KXIP conceded 22 runs in 16th overs.

Pollard and Hardik Pandya added 67 runs in their unbroken partnership for the 5th wicket. Earlier, Rohit and Ishan Kishan had added 62 runs for the third wicket. MI had lost their first wicket that of opener Quinton de Kock for a duck in the first over itself with no run on the board. Kock fell to Sheldon Cottrell on the 5th ball of the first over. Suryakumar Yadav was run out for 10 while Ishan Kishan scored 28 runs in 32 balls hitting a six and a four. Rohit completed 5,000 runs in IPL in this match.
