Patna : Mumbai Indians (MI) scored 167/7 in 20 overs against Rajasthan Royals (RR) in the 21st match of IPL this season at Sawai Mansingh Stadium, Jaipur, Rajasthan, on April 22, 2018, night, riding on a 47 ball 72 with 6 fours and 3 sixes by opener Suryakumar Yadav, the team’s most consistent batsman.
Wicketkeeper Ishan Kishan, who hails from Patna, Bihar, also scored 58 in 42 balls hitting 4 fours and 3 sixes. Kieron Pollard remained not out on 21 in 20 balls with 1 four and a six. Captain Rohit Sharma was run out without scoring. Opener Evin Lewis also failed to open his account. Krunal Pandya was out for 7 while his younger brother Hardik Pandya was out for 4. Mitchell McClenaghan was also out for duck. In fact, three MI batsmen : Rohit Sharma, Lewis, and McClenaghan were out without scoring. MI had won the toss and elected to bat. It was a sub-standard batting display by MI.
For RR, fast medium bowler Jofra Chioke Archer, 23, Barbados, took 3/22 in 4 overs while Dhawal Kulkarni took 2/32 in 4 overs. Jaydev Unadkat took 1/31.
