Patna : Electing to bat after winning the toss, Mumbai Indians (MI) scored a modest 137/9 in 20 overs against Delhi Capitals (DC) in the 13th match of IPL 2021 at M A Chidambaram Stadium, Chennai, Tamilnadu, on April 20, 2021, with spinner Ami Mishra taking 4/24 and fast bowler Avesh Khan taking 2/15 in 2 overs.

MI did not have a good start as opener Quinton de Kock (wk) fell to all-rounder Marcus Stoinis for 1 making it 9/1. But, captain Rohit Sharma (opener) and Suryakumar Yadav added 58 runs for 2nd wicket. Suryakumar fell to fast bowler Avesh Khan for 24 in 15 balls with 4 fours. Rohit fell to spinner Amit Mishra for 44 in 30 balls with 3 fours and 3 sixes.  Rohit hit Ravichandran Ashwin, Kagiso Rabada, and Avesh Khan for a six each.

But, after Rohit’s departure the MI collapsed, a familiar collapse by. Hardik Pandya (zero)  and Krunal Pandya (1) have failed to contribute with the bat in 5 matches. All-rounder Kieron Pollard fell to Amit Mishra for 2. Jayant Yadav and Ishan Kishan added 39 runs for the 7th wicket. Ishan Kishan fell to Amit Mishra for 26 in 28 balls hitting a four an a six. with a Jayant fell to Rabada for 23 in 22 balls with 1 four. Leg spinner Rahul Chahar fell to Avesh Khan for 6.
