MI beat RCB by 46 runs in IPL at Mumbai

Patna : Mumbai Indians (MI) crushed Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) by 46 runs in the 14th match of IPL 2018 at Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai, on April 17 registering their first win the four matches they have played so far in the tournamnt. The MI had lost their first three matches in  close contests.

RCB won the toss but opted to bowl. MI made 213/6 riding on an explosive batting display by their captain Rohit Sharma, who made 94 in 52 balls with 10 fours and 5 sixes, and opener Evin Lewis’s 42 balls 65 with 6 fours and 5 sixes. MI had lost their first two wickets on the first two balls of the innings with score reading 0/2 but recovered well to score 213.

In reply, the RCB could score only 167/8 in 20 overs though their captain and opener Virat Kohli made a brilliant unbeaten 92 in 62 balls with 7 fours and 4 sixes. A B de Villiers was out for 1 while opener Quinton de Kock made 19 in 12 balls with 2 fours and a six.

For MI, Krunal Pandya took 3/28 in 4 overs while Jusprit Bumrah took 2/28 in 4 overs. M McClenaghan, New Zealand, took 2/24 in 3 overs. Spinner Mayank Markande took 1/25 in 4 overs.
