Motihari : Two Assistant Professors of  Mahatma Gandhi Central University (MGCU), Motihari, Shashikant and Amit Ranjan, who were sacked on September 28, 2017, have sat on fast on the gate of  the university. The two teachers claim that they were not served on any show cause notice before their dismissal nor any query was made from them.

The two teachers, who hail from Bihar, are also likely to move the court to challenge their dismissal. The MGCU VC Arvind Agrawal refused to comment on the matter saying it was a internal matter of the university.

Shashikant and Amit Ranjan were summoned to the university office on September 28 and handed over letters signed by universiy OSD Ashutosh Pradhan informing them about their dismissal. Amit Ranjan has been told that he does not come on time while Shashikant has been told that the students were not happy with his teaching.
