Patna : Mexico stunned four time champion Germany in a Group F match of FIFA World Cup 2018 beating them 1-0 in major upset on June 17, 2018. Midfielder Hirving Rodrigo Lozano, 22, scored the winning goal for Mexico in the 35th minute in first-half of the play at Luzhniki Stadium, the largest football stadium in Russia with a seating capacity of 81,000. The Stadium is located in Khamovniki district in Moscow City.

Lozano has scored his first ever World Cup goal. He hammered the goal from 12 yards. He was all over the Germany defence in the first half. It was the 4th World Cup encounter between the two countries. Germany are making their 19th appearance in the World Cup while Mexico are making their 16th appearance.
