Motihari  :  The Krishi Vigyan Kendra  (KVK)  at Piprakothi, East Champaran,  is being developed as model KVK  in Bihar  by Dr Rajendra agriculture central university (RACU) , Pusa, Samastipur, to give maximum benefits of  modern farming and technical assistance to the traditional farmers of this backward region  on Indo-Nepal border. This KVK  is located  near Muzaffarpur-Lucknow  NH28,  11 km away from Motihari, at an agriculture farm.

R K Sriwastav, Vice chancellor(VC), Dr Rajendra agriculture central university, Pusa, recently visited the KVK, Piprakothi, and discussed various schemes and projects with agriculture scientists there. He said  that  a hi-tech
honeybee breeding centre  and  high breed  cow and buffalo semen production centre will  be set up at this KVK  to raise the production of honey and milk . The local farmers  will get maximum benefit  from these centre besides the farmers of neighboring  districts.
Union agriculture minister Radha Mohan Singh said that this KVK  at Piprakothi will be a model centre in Bihar  and the farmers of Eastern UP  and  Nepal too will benefit from it. The Indian council of agriculture research (ICAR)  has also  approved a proposal to open a  meteorological observatory centre at Piprakothi KVK  soon  to provide  advance
report and alert on weather, rain, storm  and wind to the farmers.  A Sattar, nodel officer of RACU, Pusa, said that a wind velocity machine has  already been installed at this KVK  to know the  speed of wind.
