Patna : World No 16 in ATP rankings and winner of ATP Sofia Open title on February 10, 2019, Daniil Medvedev, 22, Russia, and winner of Open Sud de France title last week Jo-Wilfied Tsonga, 33, France, entered the 2nd round of ABN AMRO World Tennis Tournament at Rotterdam, Netherland, on February 13, 2019.

Fifth seed Medvedev beat World No 35 Jeremy Chardy, 31, France, 7-6, 6-2 in the first round in 1hr 33 minutes. Medvedev won 4 break points to 2 by Chardy. He fired 8 Aces compared to 4 by Chardy. Both the players committed 2 double faults each in the match. Medvedev won 5 games in row in the match while Chardy won 4.

World No 140 Tsonga beat World No 86 Thomas Fabbiano, Italy, a qualifier, 6-1, 6-4 in the first round. Tsonga hammered 12 Aces in the match to none by Fabbiano. Tsonga won three break points too besides winning 5 games in a row in the match. Tsonga’s winning percengtage on both his first and second serve ( 85% & 82%) was much better than that of Fabbiano ( 63% & 36 %).

World No 38 Marton Fucsovics, 27, Hungary, also entered the second round beating World No 39  Martin Klizan, 29, Slovakia, 7-6, 6-4 in the first round. Fucsovics served 5 Aces in the match to 1 by Klizan. He won 2 break points while Klizan won 1. Fucsovics won 3 games I n a row in the match while Klizan won 2. Fucsovics had reached final of ATP Sofia Open in Bulgaria last week.
