Patna : World No 16 in ATP rankings Daniil Medvedev, 22, Russia, storm, ed into semi-finals of ABN AMRO World Tennis Tournament, an ATP World Tour 500 point event, at Rotterdam, Netherlands, on February 15, 2019, defeating World No 140 Jo-Wilfried Tsonga, 3, France in straight sets 6-4, 6-2 in the quarter-finals in 1hr 32 minutes.
Medvedev, who had won ATP Sofia Open title on February 10, 2019, fired 7 Aces in the match to 1 by Tsonga, who had won Open Sud de France title last week. Medvedev also won 3 break points to none by Tsonga. Medvedev also won 5 games in a row in the match. Medvedev will face World No 33 Gael Monfils, France, in the semi-finals on February 16.
