Motihari : A Medicine shop owner Vivek Kumar, 30, of village Mazhar under Turkauliya police station (PS) in East Champaran District in North Bihar, was shot dead on April 7, 2021, morning, by some villagers near his shop. He died on the spot. Police sent the body to Motihari Sadar Hospital for post-mortem.
Sunil Kumar Singh, a DSP on probation, and SHO, Turkauliya PS, said that although the motive behind the murder was yet to be ascertained, prima facie the incident appears to be a case of old enmity between the deceased and assailants. Police have arrested three named accused including Guddu, who had
allegedly opened fire on Vivek Kumar, and remanded them to jail.
Bhagwan Singh, father of the deceased, in his FIR lodged with Turkauliya PS in this connection, has said there is a long drawn dispute between
him and his brother Braj Kishor Singh over a piece of land near his ancestral house. On April 7, 2021, Braj Kishor Singh, Rahul, and Guddu, came to his home and took his son Vivek Kumar to the disputed plot and killed him, Bhagwan Singh alleged in the FIR. A 30 second video has been made viral on social media by some persons in connection with the incident. Meanwhile, police are conducting raids to nab the rest of the criminals in this case .
