Patna : World No 9 & 7th seed Matteo Berrettini, 25, Italy, beat 14th seed Hubert Hurkacz, 24, Poalnd, in a four-set contest in first semi-final on Centre Court, All England Club, Wimbledon, Londo, UK, on July 9, 2021, to reach Wimbledon final for the first time. Berrettini is the first Italian to reach Wimbledon final.
Berrettini defeated World No 18 Hurkacz, who had stunned eight-time champion Roger Federer, 39, Switzerland, in straight sets in quarter-final, 6-3, 6-0, 6-7, 6-4 in semi-final winning 6 break points during the match. Berrettini also won 11 games during the match to 2 by the Pole.
