Maternal & Child Health Super Speciality Hospital to be set up at Bhanwar Pokhar, Patna

Patna : A world class 40 bed Maternal & Child Health Super Speciality Hospital will be established on the land of Bihar Maternity & Child Welfare Committee at Bhanwar Pokhar, Patna, spread over 15,244 sq.ft. The hospital will be run on PPP mode.

A decision to this effect was taken at a high level meeting at Raj Bhavan presided over by Governor Lalji Tandon on January 8, 2019. The Governor is the Chairperson of  Bihar Maternity & Child Welfare Committee. Raj  Bhavan controls Bihar Maternity & Child Welfare Committee.

Vice-chairman of the committee and noted surgeon Dr A A Hai, Nitin Navin, MLA, Principal Secretary to Governor Vivek Kumar Singh, Executive Officer of Bihar State Health Society Lokesh Kumar Singh, MD, Bihar Health Services & Infrastructure Development Corporation, Sanjay Kumar Singh, were prominent among those attending the meeting.

The Governor while maintaining that the Maternal and Child Health Super Speciality Hospital will run on PPP mode asked the authorities concerned to ensure availability of sophisticated instruments and top quality doctors at the hospital. He asked the official to initiate the process for laying the foundation of the hospital at the earliest. The hospital would have Obstetrics & Gynaecoly and Paediatrics Departments.
