Martin beat Carlos Taberner, 22, Spain, in straight sets 6-3, 7-6 in 2nd round winning a break point and 3 games in a row in the match. Martin also fired 6 aces in the match to 2 by Taberner. Martin will face Courentin Moutet in QFs on February 7, 2020.
Moutet upset 2nd seed Guido Pella, 29, Argentina, in a tough three-set contest 6-7, 7-5, 6-3 in 2nd round rallying back from one set down. Moutet won 7 break points in the match to 5 by Pella. Moutet fired 7 Aces in the match to 4 by Pella.
Sixth seed Pablo Cuevas beat Gianluca Mager, Italy, in a three-set thriller 6-7, 7-6, 6-1 battling back from one set down in second round to advance to the quarter-finals. Cuevas won 6 break points to 3 by Mager. He fired 8 Aces in the match to 5 by the Italian. He won 4 games in a row to 3 by Mager. Cuevas will face 3rd seed Cristian Garin in QFs on February 7.
