Saharsa : Sharmila Kumari of village Basahi under Salkhua police station in Sahrasa district, who was married just six months back at village Rethi, was kidnapped by a bike borne unidentified young man on October 3, 2017, while taking her to a medicine shop to purchase drug for her mother admitted to Sub-divisional Hospital, Simribakhtiarpur.

Sharmila, her mother and her aunt ( father’s sister) Manikia Devi had got down from Intercity Express at Simribakhtiarpur Railway station on October 3 enroute village Basahi. They were coming out of the station when Sharmila’s mother started vomiting. Suddenly a bike borne stranger stopped near them and offered to drop the ill woman to the hospital, Manikia said adding that in view of the illness of her sister-in-law ( Bhabhi), she sent her and Sharmila to hospital on his bike and herself started walking to the hospital.

When she reached the hosptal, she saw the stranger taking Sharmila out on his bike, Manikia said. She stopped the bike rider to know why he was taking Sharmila out, Manikia said adding that the stranger said that they will return soon after purchasing drugs prescribed by the doctor. When they did not return even after one hour, she approached Simribakhtiarpur police station. SHO, R K Singh, said that police were searching for Sharmila and the stranger.

Sharmila was living with Manikia Devi for the last three months at village Rashok Marar in Khagaria district and was returning to her parents’ place at village Basahi with Manikia Devi on October 3. SHO, Salkhua PS, Tarun Kumar Tarunesh, has also gathered information from Naikia DeEvi in this connection.started
