Patna : Sprinter Manjit Singh, 28, and Jinson Johnson, 27, both India, won Gold and Silver medals in 800m race final at the 18th Asian Games at Jakarta, Indonesia, on August 28, 2018, evening, making it a double delight. Manjit clocked 1:46.15 to clinch the Gold Medal, the 9th for India at 18th Asian Games. Manjit from Jind, Haryana, was fourth in the race till very late but came  from behind to finish first in the last 50 metre.

Jinson Johnson, from Chakkittapara, Kerala, India, won the Silver medal clocking 1:46.35. He is a graduate from Kottayam.
