Ara : Police recovered body of a youth from outskirts of village Baruna under Bihia police station in Bhojpur district on April 10, 2020, and brought it over to Ara Sadar Hospital for post-mortem. The deceased was identified as Rahul Kumar Goswami, 22, son of Suryanath Goswami of village Osai under Bihia police station. The reason behind the murder is still to be ascertained. An FIR has been lodged by Bihia police station in this connection on the statement of the father of the deceased. Police are investigating into the incident.
SHO, Bihia police station, said that Rahul Kumar Goswami had gone somewhere on April 8, 2020, late evening, from his house after taking meal but he did not return. In the wee hour on April 10, 2020, police recovered the body village Baruna village after getting information from the villagers. The SHO said that some miscreants had strangulated Rahul to death as a mark was detected around his neck. He stated that the actual reason of the death of the deceased will be clear after post-mortem report is received.
The SHO said that the deceased worked in a company at Chennai and had come home in the month of February to celebrate Holi along with his family members. His mother Sharada Devi had died a year ago. The SHO stated that a friend had called Rahul and he went out after taking meal on April 8, 2020, late evening.
It was said that Rahul Kumar Goswami was seen along the railway line in the night on April 8, 2020, night, with friends but he did not return home. Police have reportedly taken one of his friend under custody for interrogation.
