Ara : Irate villagers blocked Piro-Jagdishpur main road near Jitaura Bazaar under Piro police station in Bhojpur district for about two hours raising slogans against police after a man Govind Sah, 24, was dashed to death by a speeding vehicle on June 30, 2018.

The villagers paralysed the movement of vehicles and demanded compensation to the next of kin of deceased and arrest of the driver of the vehicle. The blockade was lifted after positive response from the police officials. Later, police brought the body over to Ara Sadar Hospital for postmortem.

SHO, Piro police station, Janmjay Rai, said that Govind Sah, son of Mahendra Sah of Lokan Tola was returning home on his motorcycle after attending a marriage ceremony at village Pachrukhia village under Piro police station on June 30. When he reached near village Parvatpar  under Piro police station, a speeding vehicle knocked him down and escaped. The villagers rushed him to the Primary Health Centre at Piro but the doctors referred him to Ara Sadar Hospital in a precarious condition but he succumbed to his injuries on way to the hospital.
