Ara : A 20 year old man was electrocuted to death at village Belwania in Jhauwa-Belwania panchayat under Shahpur police station in Bhojpur district on November 23, 2020.
The deceased was identified as Suraj Kumar Paswan of Belwania village. Irate villagers blocked the Ara-Buxar main road near Bihia Chaurasta with the body paralyzed movement of vehicles for two hours. They were raising slogans against the district administration and demanded immediate arrest of the owner of the field and compensation to the next of kin of the deceased. The blockade was lifted after positive response from police officials. Later, police brought the body over to Ara Sadar Hospital for post-mortem.
The villagers alleged said that the owner of the field had fenced his field with barbed wire connecting it with electricity daily to protect crops from animals. They stated that Suraj Kumar Paswan was going to Balia on November 23, 2020, morning, through that field and came in contact with the live wire and was electrocuted to death on the spot.
