Man crushed to death by truck in Sitamarhi, villagers block NH -77

Sitamarhi: One Ganesh Rai,  40, was crushed to death by a speeding truck on NH- 77 near village Bhagwanpur under Bathanaha police station in Sitamarhi district on Tuesday. The deceased, who was riding a motorbike, had a head on collision with a bike coming from opposite direction after which Ganesh was thrown in front of a passing  truck which crushed him to death.

Ganesh was a native of village Singwahini under Sonbarsa block and was going to the district headquarters Sitamarhi. Angry villagers blocked the Sitamarhi-Sonbarsa NH-77 for several hours after the incident that caused a lot of
hardships to the passengers and daily commuters. They were demanding compensation and a job to a dependent of the deceased. After long persuasion and negotiation under the leadership of civil SDO Sanjay Krishna the blockade was lifted. Post-mortem was conducted at Sadar hospital and the body was handed over to the family members.
