Man commits suicide with 2 minor sons at Bhojpur village

Ara : Sonu Singh committed suicide along with his two minor sons : Ayush Kumar, 12, and Chhotu alias Durgesh, 10, by consuming poison at village Mahuli under Ara Muffassil police station on June 29, 2019, evening. Family dispute is said to be the reason behind the incident. An FIR has been lodged by Ara Muffassil police station in this regard.

SHO, Ara Muffassil police station, said that Sonu Singh of Mahuli village was a driver at a private school and his sons were students of Class III and Class I. He had a quarrel with his wife Baby Devi on June 29, 2019, evening over some trivial. Flared up, he administered pills of Celphos to his sons and also consumed the pill himself with a view to committing suicide. After consuming Celphos, their condition deteriorated and the family members and villagers rushed them to a private clinic but the doctors referred them to Patna Medical College and Hospital (PMCH). But on way to PMCH, they breathed their last one by one.

Sonu Singh was reportedly facing financial crisis. His brother worked outside Bhojpur district and they also had tiff over partition of property. On June 28, 2019, both the brothers had a tiff and Baby Devi intervened to calm them down. It upset Sonu Singh and he quarrelled with his wife on June 29, 2019. Baby Devi rebuked him that caused tension and Sonu Singh along with his sons committed suicide.
