Sasaram : A man attacked his wife Jeera Devi with a sharpedged weapon injuring her seriously and later committed suicide by consuming poison at village Amiyawar under Nasariganj police station in Rohtas district late June 29, 2017, evening. Later, police brought the body to Sasaram Sadar Hospital for post-mortem and admitted the injured there. The injured is struggling for life at the hospital.
SHO, Nasariganj police station, Samrat Singh, said that Pintu Chaudhary of Amiyawar village under Nasariganj police station always quarrelled with his wife Jeera Devi when he came home in an inebriated state and also beat her. On June 29, he came home drunk, had a scuffle with his wife and later attacked her with a sharpedged weapon and injured her. In a fit of anger, he also committed suicide after consuming poison, the SHO said. The villagers admitted Jeera Devi to a private clinic at Itimha Bazaar but the doctor there later referred her to Sasaram Sadar Hospital in view of of her critical condition.
