Ara : Bhojpur police arrested a youth on April 6, 2020, for allegedly posting objectionable item on WhatsApp against a community. Police lodged a named FIR with Nawada police station under IT Act. Police, however, later released him after giving him a warning.

SHO, Nawada police station ,Sanjeev Kumar said that Ravi Singh alias Ravi Prakash of Pakari Singh Colony under Nawada police station had posted come provocative and objectionable messages and videos against a  community on a WhatsApp groun on April 5, 2020.  In the message, Ravi Singh had urged the people not to buy articles from the shop of a particular community. After the message and videos went  viral on social media, Bhojpur SP Sushil Kumar took it very serious and directed SHO, Nawada PS, to arrest Ravi Singh alias Ravi Prakash. On his direction. the SHO arrested Ravi Singh alias Ravi Prakash.

The SHO said that ever since the outbreak of COVID-19 in India, some persons have become very active on the social media and posting  fake, false, and provocative messages to disturb peace in the society. He said that police were keeping a close watch on the social media.
