Patna : One Rajkumar, 26, was arrested on September 3, 2018, from Patna Airport for firing 6 bullets on a bridegroom Amit Kumar on July 10, 2018, when the latter reached his would be in- laws’ place at Magadh Colony, Hasanpura, under Beur police station (PS), Patna, for his marriage at around 11:45 pm.
SHO, Beur PD, said that Amit was shot at from a point blank range but has survived the attack and released from the hospital, where he had been admitted to after the incident. The SHO further said that Rajkumar was wearing a helmet and had come on a bike at the marriage venue. Police arrested Rajkumar from Patna Airport on September 3, 2018, where he had come to receive a relative, the SHO said.
The police are also looking into the possible role of the girl in the whole episode, the SHO said adding that Rajkumar and the girl had remained in touch with each other even after the incident. Rajkumar had earlier allegedly asked Amit Kumar not to marry the girl. Raju Paswan, father of Amit Kumar, lodged an FIR in this connection with Beur police station on July 11, 2018.
