Patna : The Mahagathbandhan leaders burnt the effigies of CM Nitish Kumar here on January 8, 2019, in protest against his alleged use of foul language against a leader of one of its constituents (VIP). The protest demonstration was led by state RJD president Ramchandra Purve and state RLSP chief Bhudeo Chaudhary who gathered at the Income Tax roundabout  and addressed hundreds of workers before an effigy of the Chief Minister was set ablaze.

Purve alleged that by calling Mukesh Sahni, a Bollywood set designerturned politician, ‘Sadak Chhap’, CM Nitish Kumar had insulted the entire Nishad community and said that Mahagathbandhan leaders will stage a Raj Bhavan March on January 9, 2019, if the Chief Minister does not apologise. Purve said there is anger across the state over Nitish’s remark.

During an interaction with the mediapersons on January 7, 2019, CM Nitish Kumar had dismissed the Mahagathbandhan as a formation which was picking up people from the streets.
